With Easter on the horizon, family-friendly brands are rolling out fresh collaborations, seasonal launches, and engaging storytelling to stay top of mind.

The ever-evolving landscape of toys continues to be shaped by major anniversaries, immersive experiences, and powerful licenses and franchises expanding audience appeal.

We’ve been busy celebrating Miffy’s 70th anniversary with a tasty collaboration with bubble tea experts Bubbleology, as well as the launch of a floral Cath Kidston range.

Meanwhile, our team headed to The Baby Show at Excel London to scope out the latest trends in early years play and consumer buying habits.

But now, let’s turn our attention to the big screen (or stage). Without further ado, here’s what caught our attention in March:

Mummy Pig is Pregnant

Big news for Peppa Pig fans – Mummy Pig is expecting! The year ahead will see a carefully planned rollout of Baby Pig’s gender, name, and arrival, and we predict a wave of celebratory events and fresh products to complement the growing Peppa Pig family.

The announcement episode, aptly titled Peppa Pig: The Big Announcement, will premiere on 31st March in the US on Nickelodeon. With Peppa being a global powerhouse in preschool entertainment, this storyline is bound to make waves.

As well as helping children navigate a relatable and important life event, it will inspire imaginative play – where children are inspired by imaginative play and role play, take care of babies, and act out scenarios with their toys. We’re looking forward to seeing the new family dynamic evolve… it’s kind of a ‘pig’ deal.

Natural History Museum Takes ROARsome Tour to Theatres

The Natural History Museum is bringing prehistoric thrills to families across the UK with its first-ever touring theatre production, Dinosaurs Live!. This spectacular show, developed with the museum’s world-leading palaeontologists, promises to be both entertaining and educational – a real dino-mite event!

For families unable to travel to London, this initiative makes the museum’s expertise more accessible, with an impressive 60 tour dates scheduled. Expect plenty of dino-themed merchandise and learning resources to accompany the production.

Nostalgic Viewing: Sylvanian Families’ First Movie

Get your twee on… The beloved 80s classic, Sylvanian Families, is stepping onto the big screen for the very first time! Best known for its charming anthropomorphic animals and major cottagecore vibes, the brand is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a full-length feature film.

The movie launches on 4th April, just in time for the Easter holidays, making it perfect family entertainment. With Sylvanian Families enjoying a resurgence in popularity among both collectors and new generations of fans, we expect to see millennials and Gen Z getting in on the ‘kidult’ action too.
